Fountain City Veterinary Hospital offers a wide variety of veterinary wellness services in our comfortable clinic. Our professional services include: pet dental cleaning, yearly exams, vaccinations, full service in house laboratory, pet health insurance consultations,heartworm treatments, therapeutic laser treatments,surgery, dental procedures including digital dental x-ray, and more. We are happy to help you select the right flea, heartworm, and tick control for your pet. Do you have a pudgy pet? Any team member can offer a nutritional consultation to get your pet on the right path to health and longevity.

For sick and injured pets,  Fountain City Veterinary Hospital veterinarians perform a wide range of soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, such as ACL repairs and Luxated Patella repairs. We also perform many specialty surgeries, for much less than what specialists charge. Additionally, we are able to offer endoscopy procedures which can assist with many stomach, intestinal and middle ear problems.

Does your pet have a stubborn skin problem or allergy that is not getting better? We welcome you to a second opinion appointment and our doctors will consult with you on a variety of options for your pet.

Fountain City Vet has many diagnostic tools such as ultrasound and radiology, (including dental radiology).

  • Dr. Brent Pettigrew, DVM

    Owner/Veterinarian
    Dr. Brent Pettigrew is a 1975 graduate of Michigan State University He started Fountain City Veterinary Hospital in 1976. This became the first practice in the area devoted entirely to pet animal medicine. Dr. Pettigrew has three cats, Spore, Blueberry, and Twig. He enjoys traveling, cooking, and fishing. He is available for appointments on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and rotating Saturdays.

  • Dr. Darcy Adams, DVM

    Veterinarian
    Dr. Darcy Adams is a Fairview High School graduate and received her degree in Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University in 1986. She has been with us since 2003. Dr. Adams has a two dogs, Chuckles and Siri. She has three cats, Corrine, Dinah, and Sunshine, and a rabbit, Bella. She enjoys running, cycling,camping, gardening and spending time with her daughters, Malin and Michaela. She is available for appointments Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and rotating Saturdays.

    Veterinarian
    Dr. Erica Lewis comes to us from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. She graduated from Michigan State University in 2008. She has two cats, Cody and Frankie,who has extra toes and likes to get into trouble. She enjoys outdoor sports, kayaking, running, fishing, gardening, and hanging out with family, including 2 adorable nieces. Dr. Lewis has an extensive amount of continuous education in dentistry. She is available for appointments Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and rotating Saturdays.

    Dr. Kleman joined our team in spring of 2014. He completed his undergraduate studies at Defiance College in Molecular Biology. He is a 2014 Summa Cum Laude graduate of The Ohio State University. Dr. Kleman is long-term fostering two cats, Hombre and Latrine. He enjoys tennis, basketball, watching movies and any sports, reading, and spending time with his wife, Beth. He is available for appointments Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and rotating Saturdays.

    Callie is a 2007 graduate of Stautzenberger College of Toledo and has been with our clinic since April 2007. She attended Northwest State Community College for Business Management. in May of 2017 she became board certified as a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager through the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association. She has three cats, Walter, Edgar and George. She enjoys distance running, CrossFit, Spartan racing and other mud obstacle races,olympic weightlifting, camping, cooking, gardening, reading, and spending time with her husband, Adam.

    Spore is our resident pet. He spends his day sleeping in his basket on the front desk or in Chris, our receptionist's chair.He prides himself in being slightly surly towards our client's pets. In his spare time he enjoys eating strawberry cream cheese, playing outside in the fenced in yard, and occasionally peeing on things. He is the Williams County Pet Idol of 2012.

    Dakota joined our team in October of 2017. She is a student at Four County Career center under the work release program for Veterinary Assisting. She plans to attend college to become a Registered Veterinary Technician in the future. She has two ferrets; Miley and Logan, a rabbit named Jade, and a cat named Beowulf. Her hobbies include reading and collecting rare horse figurines.
